The newest offering from Mahindra called the Verito is a rebadged model of company’s proven workhorse Logan. Mahindra Verito Exterior & Design

Mahindra e-Verito gets a decade old design but still continues to look fresh thanks to use of chrome which Indians love on their car (don’t know why!). The car still reminds of Mahindra-Renault Logan that later became the Mahindra Verito post the announcement of split between Mahindra and Renault in 2010. Later, the Verito got an electric revival with an electric motor and now will be supplied for the EESL tender running along with Tata Tigor electric. Mahindra e-Verito is spacious electric sedan with a huge boot space of 510L. The battery that supplies power to electric motor is place beneath the car that has allowed the car to be spacious. Electric badge at the rear and Mahindra Electric (ME+) on the side fast charging panel notifies (on top-end) the electric variant. While the overall appeal of the car is not new or unique the car is still decent looking. Fresh looks and upgrade will lead to increase in cost which at the moment is not good for the electric car market. E-Verito gets body coloured bumpers, door-handles and ORVMs and gets power windows.

The first thing that you notice as soon as you get into the car’s cabin is space and openness. Mahindra Verito Engine & Transmission

Mahindra is a master of all when it comes to powering the vehicles. Though Verito is available in both diesel and petrol, but its diesel engine needs a special mention here. The 1.5-litre 4 cylinder diesel engine is pretty frugal and delivers quite an appreciable performance over city roads. It carries an ability to deliver power worth 66PS against a peak torque of 160Nm. The petrol version on the other hand is powered by a 1.4-litre engine that displaces 1390cc to deliver power worth 76PS against a peak torque of 110Nm. Both these engines mate with a 5-speed manual transmission. All the versions of Mahindra Verito are available with BSIII and BSIV compliant versions of these power mills. The gear ratio is great that is another feather in its cap with respect to city and highway drives.

The inspiring model Renault Logan has always been known for its high mileage and the legacy is continued by Verito.
